The Faculty of Agriculture was originally established in 1985 at Yarmouk University and was later integrated into the newly founded Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) in 1986. The first cohort of students was admitted in the 1989/1990 academic year, enrolling in the Plant Production and Nutrition & Animal Production departments. The Faculty celebrated its first graduating class in 1992/1993, with a total of 38 graduates.
Today, the Faculty comprises four academic departments:
- Department of Plant Production: Offers a Bachelor's degree in Plant Production and a Master's degree with specializations in Field Crops, Horticulture, and Plant Protection.
- Department of Animal Production: Offers a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Animal Production.
- Department of Nutrition and Food Technology: Offers a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Food Technology, and Master's degrees in both Nutrition and Food Technology.
- Department of Natural Resources and Environment: Offers Bachelor's degrees in Rangeland and Forests, Soil and Irrigation, and Environment.
- Also offers Master's degrees in Soil, Water and Environment, and Integrated Natural Resource Management.
- The Faculty currently employs: 47 faculty members across various academic ranks، 4 laboratory supervisors، 9 laboratory technicians، 15 administrative staff
Facilities include 12 teaching laboratories across all departments and 17 research laboratories dedicated to supporting faculty and graduate-level research.
