Mission
To participate
in the national and international efforts towards achieving sustainable
development by preserving the environment and its natural resources against
improper use/overuse and pollution in an integrated manner that takes into
consideration economic growth and other factors through education, research and
services.
Goals
- Preserve and enhance the
natural landscape of the university-owned ecosystems to improve the
quality of life on campus.
- Strengthen JUST leadership in
the creation of new knowledge and solving real-world problems related to
sustainability.
- Strengthen JUST leadership in
innovative educational experiences that foster and promote a culture of
sustainability within the JUST and broader community.
- Procure goods and services in
ways that maximize efficiency and effectiveness while minimizing social,
environmental, and other risks.
- Stimulate a culture of health,
wellness, and sustainability that meets the physical and mental health
needs of our students, faculty, and staff.
- Achieve a highly
energy-efficient campus with ambition to become a net-zero CO2 emissions
campus.
- Promote a university-wide
culture that strives for waste prevention and minimization by adopting the
principles of circular economy.
- Establish a model campus with
multiple water supply alternatives and implementation of efficient water
use technologies.
- Transform into a model campus
for wastewater reuse in agriculture.
