of mitigating its environmental impact through its procurement practices. The
implementation of the Sustainable Procurement Policy is designed to encompass
all university personnel, academic and administrative units, and the central
supplies unit, ensuring that all products and services acquired by JUST adhere
to the university's social and environmental obligations. This commitment aims

Implemented Policies
The following principles are adopted by staff, faculties, and departments for achieving sustainable procurement and purchasing within Jordan University of Science &Technology.
- Adopt procurement practices that embody the university’s commitment towards social responsibility and sustainability.
- Encourage staff, academic faculties, and administrative department to thoroughly asses the needs of the services or products to be acquired through procurement.
- Increase the awareness of the academic and administrative staff of the importance of sustainable procurement practices and their impact on the environment and society.
- Promotes supplier adherence to national and international standards concernine environmental, social, and economic aspects, fostering a collaborative approach towards sustainable advancement.
- Encourage the procurement unit, when appropriate, to adopt a purchasing selection criterion that focuses on sustainable offers and contracts from suppliers.
- Ensure that the purchasing and procurement takes into consideration the lifecycle of the product, its energy consumption and method of disposal at its expiry.
