Deanship of
Academic Development and Quality Assurance
In 2004, the Academic Development Center (ADC) was established, followed by the creation of the Quality Assurance Office (QAO) in 2007. Since 2022, the ADC center and QAO has merged and undergone a transformation into a deanship (Visit Deanship of Academic Development and Quality Assurance). This deanship now operates as an autonomous and vital scientific administrative unit, assuming a pivotal role in the university's internal oversight. Its core responsibilities encompass the formulation of strategies and quality policies aimed at enhancing academic performance. Additionally, it takes the lead in developing and executing the institution's strategic plan for quality assurance and accreditation. The overarching objective is to foster academic and research excellence across all university academic programs and administrative units. Furthermore, the deanship serves as an internal auditing entity, conducting systematic evaluations of the university's academic and administrative performance based on well-established scientific criteria. It also conducts assessments of faculty members to enhance the teaching-learning process and create an optimal learning environment. Additionally, it maintains a vigilant watch over various key performance indicators and collects statistics and feedback on academic and administrative processes throughout the institution as a whole.
In addition to these responsibilities, the deanship is committed to the implementation of environmental sustainability initiatives within the university. This includes developing and promoting practices that align with environmental sustainability goals, ensuring that the institution operates in an environmentally responsible manner.
JUST Sustainability Committee
This committee was established in 2023. The
University Sustainability Committee has three primary objectives:
-
To review, revise, and monitor the implementation of JUST's environmental sustainability policies.
-
To oversee the university's relationships with the natural environment and the ecosystems that sustain life.
-
To develop and implement procedures that promote and enhance an environmentally friendly campus.
Environmental Awareness and Assessment
At JUST, we employ the Basic Sustainability Assessment Tool (BSAT) to evaluate performance across core sustainability issues aligned with prevalent reporting frameworks and standards. This tool serves to gauge an organization's strides in mitigating or eradicating detrimental effects on the environment, its workforce, and society at large. Additionally, BSAT awards bonus points for organizations demonstrating regenerative practices, whether through direct actions or indirect contributions via products, services, or charitable endeavors that amplify positive impacts or alleviate harm.
