JUST and JEA–Irbid Branch Discuss Strategic Cooperation to Advance Engineering Education
The Faculty of Engineering at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) welcomed a delegation from the Jordan Engineers Association (JEA) – Irbid Branch, in a meeting that underscored the longstanding and strategic partnership between the academic and professional engineering communities in Jordan. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to advancing engineering education and aligning academic outputs with the evolving needs of the labor market.
The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Doraid Dalalah, with the participation of vice deans, and department heads. The JEA delegation was led by Engineer Mahmoud Rababa, Head of the Irbid Branch, accompanied by members of the branch council and representatives from its specialized committees.
Key topics discussed during the meeting included:
- Enhancing cooperation in field training, by offering high-quality, hands-on training opportunities for students across engineering disciplines.
- Organizing joint scientific and professional activities, such as conferences, workshops, and continuing education programs aimed at strengthening the skills of both students and practicing engineers.
- Exploring the Association's involvement in assessing educational outcomes, and providing constructive feedback to ensure alignment with national and regional labor market demands.
- Identifying opportunities for collaboration in supporting student engineering projects, through practical partnerships and potential co-funding initiatives.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to deepening this partnership, with a focus on preparing graduates who are capable, competitive, and ready to contribute effectively to Jordan's engineering sector and the broader regional development goals.
