  • A royal decree was issued in 1986 to establish the University.

Location, space and buildings
  • The total area of the university is 11,000,000 m2, the maximum length of the university is 7 km, and the maximum width is 1.9 km.
  • The university buildings area is 415,822 m2.
  • The space of the green area is 5,346,000 m2, of which 550,000 m2 are planted with 532,200 forest trees, 2,970,000 m2 are planted with 48,778 fruit trees, 581, 000 m2 are gardens, and 1,240, 000 m2 are planted with field crops.
  • The university has an artificial lake with a surface area of 40,000 m2 and a capacity of 140,000 m3.
  • The university has an earthen dam that is filled with the winter from Seoul, neighboring areas, with a capacity of 170,000 m3.
  • The university has a solar power station with a capacity of 15 MW and a production capacity of about 7974 MW/h.
  • The university has King Abdullah University Hospital, which is a building consisting of a main tower that contains fifteen floors and underground buildings consisting of three floors, with an area of 95,583 m2. Its capacity ranges from 678 to 819 beds, in case of emergency. It also has a Radiotherapy Center expected to receive up to 3,000 patients annually. 
  • The university has a field hospital with a capacity of 10,000 m2 . It can accommodate 300 beds, of which 50 are intensive care beds.
Human resource
  • The number of faculty members is 1068, 31.6% of whom are female.
  • The number of administrative and technical staff members is 1940, 34.8% of whom are female.
  • The number of workers and employees in service jobs is 696, 10% of whom are female.
  • 1 : 1.81 is the ratio of faculty members to members of the administrative staff
  • 45.8% of the faculty members are graduates from the United States of America, 19.6% from European countries and Britain, 7.6% from Canada, 5.3% from Australia and New Zealand, 18.5% from Jordan, 0.7% From East Asian countries, and 0.2% from neighboring Arab countries.  
Faculties, programs and students
  • The university has 12 colleges, one institute, 66 academic departments, 48 bachelor programs, 57 master programs, and two doctoral programs.
  • 98,199 have graduated from JUST, 19,557 of whom are international.
University Library
  • The library covers an area of 12,500 square meters.
  • The library accommodates 2,500 visitors at the same time.
  • The Library is pioneer in adopting RFID self-services equipments:  Check-out Kiosks, 24/7 Check-in through outdoor Book-Drop, DLA devices used in book ordering, weeding, searching for lost items and automatic inventory.The library contains 195,000 books, 50,000 volumes, 673,500 e-books, and 58 databases with 161,210 electronic journals.
