A Canadian Delegation Visits the Faculty of Pharmacy at JUST

A Canadian delegation visited Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) to explore potential partnerships with the university in the areas of education, credentialing, licensing, recruitment, and labor mobility between Jordan and Canada. The delegation included representatives from several Canadian institutions such as the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists, the Government of New Brunswick, and the Government of Nova Scotia.

The delegation was warmly received by the University President, Professor Khaled Al-Salem, in the presence of the Vice President, Professor Basheer Khasawneh, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Professor Qosay Al-Balas, and the Vice Dean of Pharmacy, Dr. Osama Alshogran.

During the reception, Professor Al-Salem highlighted the university's academic achievements and its contributions to education, scientific research, and community service. He emphasized JUST's ongoing commitment to fostering international cooperation and exchanging expertise through the development of joint programs. He also noted the strong existing ties between JUST and several academic and medical institutions in Canada.

The delegation expressed their appreciation for JUST's leadership in higher education and scientific research. They praised the university's distinguished academic reputation, both locally and internationally, and reaffirmed the Canadian delegation's commitment to strengthening academic collaboration through student and faculty exchange programs, joint research initiatives, and the creation of employment opportunities for graduates from diverse scientific fields.

Following this, a meeting was held with the Deans of the faculties of Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, Applied Medical Sciences, Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, and Scientific Research. Each Dean presented an overview of their respective faculty's programs and achievements, and discussions were held on opportunities for collaboration and graduate employment initiatives.

The delegation also visited King Abdullah University Hospital (KAUH), where they met with Professor Hassan Al-Balas, Director of the hospital. Professor Al-Balas provided an overview of KAUH's facilities and its critical role in Jordan's healthcare system, and then guided the delegates on a tour of various hospital departments.

At the conclusion of the visit, Professor Qosay Al-Balas and Dr. Osama Alshogran once again welcomed the Canadian delegation and emphasized the importance of continued coordination between the two parties. They highlighted the need to establish a formal framework for future cooperation, particularly in higher education and expanding labor mobility opportunities for JUST graduates.
