April 28 // The President of Jordan University of Science and Technology, Professor Khaled Al-Salem, received today, Sunday, the Head of the National Center for Cybersecurity, Engineer Bassam Al-Maharmeh, in the presence of the Vice President of the University, Professor Ahmed Al-Ajlouni. During the meeting, areas of cooperation, training, awareness, scientific research, and strengthening national capabilities were discussed in the field of cybersecurity.
Al-Salem stressed that continued cooperation with the National Center for Cybersecurity is one of the university’s main priorities, adding that the university always seeks to offer pioneering specializations in technology, specifically cybersecurity.
For his part, Al-Maharmeh said that the Center is proud of its partnerships with Jordanian universities and its partnership with the University of Science and Technology, whose students will be trained, within the Cyber Warriors Training Week for Universities, which is provided by the National Center for Cybersecurity in partnership with the University.
During the visit, the “Cyber Warriors” training activities were opened, launched by the National Center for Cybersecurity, to develop the students’ skills, and capabilities, and qualify them for cybersecurity opportunities that suit their skills.
The Dean of the College of Computer and Information Technology at the University, Professor Dr. Mounir Bani Yassin, thanked all those responsible for this professional training program, praised the student’s academic level, and urged them to actively participate in all available training to hone their personal and scientific experiences.
At the end of the event, the winning teams in local, regional, and international competitions for students of the College of Computer and Information Technology, which obtained the highest results in the challenges they underwent, were honored.
