The Faculty of Computer and Information Technology is recognized as one of the largest and fastest-growing institutions in the world. The increasing demand for high-performance computing is a driving force behind advancements in various sectors, including business, education, and beyond. At the same time, computers have become essential components of numerous large-scale systems that require sophisticated monitoring, such as automobiles, medical devices, communication networks, and factory automation.
Today, computers are at the core of many groundbreaking technologies, including consumer electronics, interactive multimedia, and high-speed computer networks. The development of these applications necessitates professionals who are highly skilled in both hardware and software design.
We are proud to be the first and largest faculty in Jordan dedicated to Computer Science and Information Technology, setting the stage for internationally recognized education and research. Our roots trace back to the Department of Electrical Engineering (1979) and the Department of Mathematics and Statistics (1986), both of which laid the foundation for our current programs.
Many of our graduates hold prestigious positions across the globe and are making significant contributions in challenging and rewarding roles.
In 1998, the Department of Computer Engineering and the Department of Computer Science were established within the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Science and Arts, respectively.
The Faculty of Computer and Information Technology was officially founded in 2000 in alignment with the university's mission to achieve academic excellence and advance human resource development.
