The Department of English Language and Linguistics is home to one of the largest and most vibrant programs at JUST. The Department has remarkably evolved from an English language service unit within the Department of Humanities in 1986 to a degree-granting Department of English for Specific Purposes in 1996. The Department of English Language and Linguistics was established in 2011 to cope with the most recent advancements in the field of Linguistics. The Department now comprises 15 Ph.D holders supported by more than 20 research and teaching assistants and lecturers. The Department boasts more than 1000 undergraduate and more than 200 student in its graduate program.
