Urban Planning Law: The course presents an overview of the various laws and regulation most pertinent to the planning practice, and the limitations on local governments. Special focus would be on land use and zoning regulations in Jordan. In addition, the course shows experiences with regulations and their effect on city form from other countries
The course aims to qualify the students and motivate them to deal with the challenges of the profession that face them after graduation. Students should demonstrate their ability to develop a good design for their selected projects showing their creativity individually, to demonstrate the skills associated with making integrated decisions across multiple systems and variables in the completion of a design project. This demonstration includes problem identification, setting evaluation criteria, analyzing solutions, and predicting the effectiveness of implementation. The student at this stage is responsible for producing the final design based on the philosophical, intellectual, and methodological criteria. The project includes several stages, each of which based on the progress and success in producing accepted design in terms of the academic and professional standards.

The course is an introduction to theories of urban design. It examines theories and processes within an urban design and planning context, discussing elements, principles and approaches of urban design and urban planning, which affect the physical design of the urban environment concentrating on contemporary design issues. The course will also tackle the issues of housing.

Introduction to architectural profession in terms of architect role, responsibilities, duties, and its relations to other engineering professions. The role of Jordan Engineers association in the labor market, discussion of its law and legislative interests and local architectural practices. Building legislation’s in the Jordanian cities. Analysis of the relation between the designer, contractor, and client. Emphasis on the principles and ethics of the profession. A quick survey of international architectural practice.
This course enables students to explore their creativity in the field of interior design. Identification of the elements and principles of design through emphasizing the connection between parts of interior environment. Also, evolving solutions based on aesthetic and expressive values together according to program / function requirements, use, and spatial experience.
