2020- September 19-20

Reproductive Health Workshop: In collaboration with Jordanian Nursing Council I participated in conducting two-day online workshop for around 36 nurses in the community about the Reproductive Health. The workshop addressed issues related to elements of reproductive health, puberty, growth and development, STIs, health problems related to reproductive system, the applications of youth friendly reproductive services in the community and health sectors. Also, issues related to policies related to reproductive health services were discussed.

2019-December 22

Coordination and participation in a health awareness open-day   under the slogan "Optimum Health for adolescent girls", with undergraduate students in the pediatric Nursing course. The event was held at a girl high school in Al-Naima village. The open day included a Variety of health topics such as healthy nutrition for school children, growth and development during the adolescence stage, importance of physical activity for school children, safe use of cell-phones, personal hygiene, dental care and the harm of passive smoking.  The open day enriched with various entertainment activities including drama play, knowledge competitions and practicing physical exercises.  

 

2019-December 17

Organizing with graduate students in Acute Pediatric Course an educational event under the title “Friendly IV Fluid for Children”. The event was held in the University of Science and Technology and targeted medical students and staff. During this event information about Intravenous fluid in terms of origin, types and compositions of each type. Also, nursing considerations when administering these types of fluids for children were discussed.  The event attracted a number of healthcare providers and students from different colleges (nursing, medicine, pharmacy, medical tests, physiotherapy).

 

2019-December 03

 Organizing with graduate students in Acute Pediatric Course an open day event in the celebration of the International Day for People with Special Needs under the title “Optimal health for children with disabilities”. The event was held at Jordan University of Science and Technology

 The event main focus   was on the communication between nurses and children. Using posters, videos and brochures the audience were provided with the definition   of disability according to the World Health Organization,  most current statistics related to the numbers of people with special needs globally and in Jordan, barriers to effective communications between nurses and sick children with special needs during hospitalization and plan of the World Health Organization to improve the level of health services provided to children with special needs. Also, alternative means of communications with children with special needs using alternative   such as Agumentative Alternative Communication (AAC) Smartphone applications was presented. Finally, the impact of effective communications on the health of children with special needs were deliberated during a group discussion.

 

 

2019-November 17

Organizing with graduate students in Acute Pediatric Course an open day event in the celebration of the World Prematurity Day. The event was held at Jordan University of Science and Technology. The event focused on health issues related to premature infants’ adaptation to life including such as temperature regulation, neutral thermal environment, prevent heat loss, stabilization of premature infants’ temperature in the neonatal intensive care unit, and possible complications due to high or low temperature.  Posters, videos, brochures, and group discussion methods were used to present the topics, beside many entertainment activities for healthcare providers and students from different schools (e.g., Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Health sciences).

 

 

 

2019-April 30

Coordination and participation in an awareness-raising campaign under the slogan "A conscious girl for a better life", with graduate students in the Acute Care pediatric Nursing course (I). The campaign was held at Yarmouk Model school at Yarmouk University in Irbid. The target group was the teenage students aiming at raising health awareness regarding adolescence period, Harassment and the use of mobile phones and electronic games.  

 

 

2018- April 14

Coordination and participation in Pediatric Anemia awareness day with graduate students in the Acute Care pediatric Nursing course (I). The workshop was held at Al-Sareah Community Health Center for public. Students conducted   group discussions about causes of anemia among children, sign and symptoms and treatment of anemia. Also students distributed printed education material, beside many entertainment activities for mothers and children. 

 

2017- November 20

Coordination and participation in infection control workshop with graduate nursing students in the Acute Care pediatric Nursing course (II). The workshop was held at King Abdullah hospital for staff nurses.  Students provided staff nurses with most recent research studies relevant to infection control and prepared posters for this purpose.  

 

2017- March 30

Participation in AL-FARAH health day in collaboration with The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in refugee camp elementary school in Suf, Jarash; Jordan.  Growth and development follow-up assessment was conducted for grade-one students. Grade-six students benefited from health classes on a variety of health topics including personal hygiene, nutrition and adolescence stage changes which were presented by second-year nursing students at JUST

 

2015- September 16-17

Conducting A two-day workshop of Training of Trainers for Health Promotion Course for Faculty members from Jordan University and Muata University, in cooperation with United Nations Population Fund and Royal Health Awareness Society in Amman.    

2014

Organizing a symposium for graduate nursing students. Students presented their study research using posters, 40 graduate students participated in the symposium which as held at Jordan University of Science and Technology.

 

2014- April

Conducting three workshops for undergraduate students about youth health on three relevant subjects which were about Cancer, Family planning and Safe Motherhood. The workshops were funded by UNFPA and Royal Awareness Health Society and held at Jordan University of Science and Technology, Irbid- Jordan.

 

 2013 April

Conducted a health fair with the undergraduate students for mothers in Al-Sareah maternal and child health center. The health fair included presentations and group discussions about growth and development from birth to the fifth birthday. Students did growth and development assessment for all children attended the event. Also, students distributed printed education material, in addition to other entertainment activities for mothers and children. 

 

 

2012- December

Successfully conducted one-day health fair for students and teachers in Beat-Ras Girls High School in Irbid.  The health fair included multiple workshops about personal hygiene, healthy food for adolescents, first aids and breast self-examination.  Around 100 students and 10 teachers attended the workshops.

 

2012- November

Successfully conducted a Breast Self-Examination (BSE) open day for Palestinian Refugees in Soof Camp in Jarah. The open day activities included lecturing about breast cancer and demonstration of BSE. More than 45 women fully participated in the open day.

 

2012- April

Successfully continuing healthcare open days for The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) elementary school in Jarah; Jordan.  Growth and development follow-up assessment was conducted for grade-two students. Grade-five students benefited from health classes on a variety of health topics including personal hygiene, nutrition and bullying presented by third-year nursing students at JUST.

 

 

 

2011- April

Created and executed healthcare open days for The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) elementary school in Jarash; Jordan. The growth and development parameters were assessed for all grade-one students. Students benefited from health classes on a variety of health topics including personal hygiene, nutrition and physical exercises presented by third-year nursing students at JUST.
