Professor Muneer Bani Yassein is currently Professor in the Department of Computer Science, where he taught more than 20 different courses at all levels (from 0-level remedial courses to 700-level advanced graduate-level courses). He supervised more than 220 students at all levels: four at the PhD-level (jointly supervised with Professor Al-Dubai from Edinburgh Napier University, UK), 50 at the MSc-level (45 already graduated). He recognized as one of the top researchers publishing in Scopus journals in Jordan University of Science and Technology with 130+ publications. Professor Bani Yassein is named in the world’s top 2% of Scientists List. He leads the IoT and Networked Systems Research Group. He served as a Department Chairperson for two years before he started his position as a Vice Dean for eight years and Vice Dean of Deanship of Student Affairs for one year. He continued to serve as a member of the faculty and department councils, the Department Chairs Council, the department’s Curriculum Committee, and several Focus Groups and the faculty’s Curriculum Committee and Promotions Committee. He was a member of several university-level committees. Prof. Bani Yassein was awarded his PhD from the Department of Computing Science, University of Glasgow in 2007. He leads interdisciplinary research and initiatives on the area of Group Communications, High-performance Networks, Internet of Things, Future Networks, Smart Cities and Security. His findings have been published widely in top tier journals including different IEEE journals, and in prestigious international conferences including IEEE ICC. He published more than 200 papers, some of which are well-received by the community and they are widely read and well-cited (3764 citations on Google Scholar and 2056 citations on Scopus). He helped in organizing dozens of conferences and workshops.
