About Me
Dr Alaa Oteir is a passionate academic, researcher, paramedic and physiotherapist. Alaa finished his PhD in paramedicine at Monash University. He started his paramedicine journey in the US where he got his master's degree in Emergency Health Services as well as an intesive paramedic trainig at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC).
Dr Oteir is the first jordanina paramedic with a PhD. Dr Oteir
is interested in improving prehospital care through evidence
based practice. He published in top emergency
journals and presented in several
international conferences and symposiums.
Dr Oteir is currently working as an Associate Professor (Paramedic) and Head of Allied Medical Science Department, Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, Jordan University of Science and Technology. He is also an adjucnt lecturer with the Department of Paramedicine, Monash University.
Dr Oteir research interest includes prehospital managment of trauma emergnecies, knowledge and attitude twards CPR, wllbeing of emergency health care providers and paramedicine in general.
