Jordan University of Science and Technology continues to strengthen its leadership in innovation and development through projects awarded by international organizations

The President of the University of Science and Technology (JUST), Prof. Dr. Khaled Al-Salem, stressed the importance of cooperation with national and international organizations to achieve the university's vision of innovation in higher education and to contribute to economic and social development in line with the Jordan's economic modernization vision.

In this regard, USAID Higher Education for Innovation and Growth Activity (HEIG) held a signing ceremony, on November 10th, for the five selected sub-awardees. Among the awarded projects, JUST was a partner in two projects, the first one is Expansion and Smart Control Integration for Seed Storage between the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects and OULA for Seed Production (OULA). The second project is Developing Eco-friendly Natural Fertilizers for Sustainable Agriculture between the Institute of Nanotechnology and Manaseer Industrial Complex.

The event marks the beginning of a promising collaboration to strengthen Jordanian higher education institutions and drive impactful projects in alignment with USAID's goals for economic growth and education development. Following the ceremony, sub-awardees engaged in a comprehensive training covering grant management essentials— from reporting systems to compliance, communication, monitoring and evaluation, and financial management.

Prof. Al-Salem added that the winning projects highlight the university's research and scientific capabilities in vital fields such as sustainable agriculture and nanotechnology, stressing that the university is working to strengthen partnerships with national and international institutions to achieve its goals in scientific research and technological development, which contributes to building a sustainable knowledge and economic society.
