The Australian Embassy in Amman honors students of the Jordan University of Science and Technology who won to develop applications for mobile devices to promote Australia
The Faculty of Computer & Information Technology at Jordan University of Science and Technology organized a competition in a collaboration with the Australian embassy in Jordan. In this competition the students are asked to submit proposals to develop applications for mobile devices that relates to Australia in different fields. These fields include History and Culture, Sports, Trade and economy, Nature and Environment, and Science and Innovation. Students in their applications are assessed on the creativity, innovation and novelty of their submission. Seven teams have participated in this competition with seven applications. The applications have been evaluated by a panel of technical specialists from The Faculty of Computer & Information Technology at Jordan University of Science and Technology, and by the Australian Ambassador. After two rounds of evaluations, the committee conclude to have three top applications as winners of this competition.
In the presence of His Excellency Prof. Sa’eb Khresat, the president of Jordan University of Science and Technology and His Excellency Mr. Bernard Lynch, the Australian Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan an award ceremony has been held in the Embassy of Australia. The ceremony was very limited due to the COVID-19 safety restrictions. In this ceremony, awards and certificates have been distributed to the representative of winners and to the students who have participated in this competition.
