A joint venture agreement between Jordan University of Science and Technology, and Hikma Pharmaceutical Company with an Aim of Developing a New Pharmaceutical Product

The university president, His Excellency, Prof. Saeb Khreisat and the Executive Director of Hikma Pharmaceutical Company, His Excellency, Prof. Salah Al-Mawajda, signed a joint collaboration agreement, which aims at developing joint pharmaceutical product. Research studies for developing this product will be carried out at the laboratories of the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Pharmaceutical Research Center at JUST under the supervision of Prof. Rana Obaidat, the director of the Pharmaceutical Research Center and Dr. Bashar AlTaani, the vice dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy.


It is to note that this move comes as part of the University's plan to ensure close interrelationship with the industry where this collaboration will provide rich and interactive opportunities to link industry and university experiences, creating a competitive spirit and positive environment for industrial investment and innovation.

Prof. Khreisat expressed his keenness to sign the agreement with Hikma Pharmaceuticals Company, praising the quality services provided by Hikma Pharmaceutical Company, to both the academic and scientific sectors.

Prof. Al-Mawajda indicated that the signing of this agreement comes from the joint objectives of both institutions to cooperate and have strategic linking between the public and private sectors, which will ensure a growing relationship that serves the mutual benefit of both parties and keep abreast of scientific developments in pharmaceutical sciences to serve the medical sector,

Prof. Mawajada expressed his pride in the level achieved by the Faculty of Pharmacy and its role in the development of pharmaceutical sciences.

The signing ceremony was attended by Vice President of the University Prof. Khalid El-Salem, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Karem Alzoubi and the accompanying delegation of Hikma and the University.
