"Jordan University of Science and Technology"(JUST) participates in the Arab Competition for Programming


The Faculty of Computer and Information Technology from JUST participated in three teams in the Arab Programming Competition ICPC ACPC 2018. It was held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt with the participation of about 130 teams representing different universities in the Arab countries.


 The students of the university (Ibraheem Tafaha, Iyad Hajjah and Abdul Rahman Al-Zeboon) won the second place at the level of the Jordanian universities participating in the competition. Ibraheem Abu Issa, Mohammad Shakhatra, Fares Obaid, Ali Fadel, and Malik Abdul Rahman also took part in the competition accompanied by Dr. Wael Mardini, the supervisor of programming competitions at the university.


Prof. Ismail Al-Humaidi, the Dean of the College of Computer and Information Technology at the University, said that the participation of students in such competitions develops the spirit of competition and creativity and builds up the mental skills of students in thinking and analysis to find effective and quick solutions to the problems presented.  During such competitions, the participants find software solutions to various issues in various areas of life.


The competition was attended by the best Arab teams that qualify from their countries after holding local competitions at the level of each country. JUST was the best university and the highest representation among Jordanian universities qualified from Jordan
