Jordan University of Science and Technology renewed the ISO certificate and transfer to the new standard (ISO 9001: 2015)
In continuation of its pursuit of total quality, JUST has recently obtained the renewal of its ISO 9001 certificate in the quality management system for the next 3 years, as well as the transition to the new standard ISO 9001:2015 following an extensive audit that was performed by Lloyd's Register.
A team from Lloyd's Register visited the university and examined quality files, forms and supporting documents for all administrative units, centers and offices at the university and concluded with granting the transition to the ISO 9001:2015.
The ISO 9001:2015 certification is an international quality assurance certification based mainly on customer satisfaction and on the renewal of the ISO certificate that is performed every three years. It is to be noted that the transition to the new standard (The ISO 9001: 2015) is a more difficult process than the initial ISO certification as the audit team takes into account the quality of the services offered by the university since initial acquisition.
JUST president, Prof. Saeb Khreisat, commented on this new accomplishment saying that JUST was the first public university in Jordan to obtain the ISO 9001: 2008 certificate back in 2012 adding that this achievement is a confirmation of JUST's leadership and excellence in quality. Prof. Khreisat affirmed that the certificate renewal and the transition to the new standard (ISO 9001: 2015) is the result of cumulative efforts of the university's staff and associates. He said that this achievement would not have been possible without the continuous efforts of the university staff since its inception to promote the university, to continue the progress and to achieve the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II in a distinct and pioneering higher education in Jordan.
The director of the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center at JUST, Prof. Mohamed Al-Widyan, stressed the pivotal role played by the senior management at the university in this achievement, and the importance of establishing the quality principles in the performance of work and the keenness of units to adopt these practices in accordance with the quality standards that the university is keen to work and implement in its all sectors.
