A Delegation from American universities visits JUST
The President of JUST, Prof. Saeb Khraisat, met with a delegation of Academic and researchers at a number of American universities.
During the meeting, they two parties discussed prospects for cooperation and coordination between the two sides in the field of enhancing academic cooperation and scientific research, exchanging faculty members, students, setting up projects, academic programs, study plans, and organizing scientific conferences.
The project also discussed the US-Jordanian network of universities which is funded by the US Embassy in Amman and coordinated by the Eurasia Foundation
Dr. Khreisat pointed out that the University has advanced and developed in a systematic strategic approach over the years achieving its goals based on scientific thinking and strategic planing and is always striving to keep up with the rapid technological changes taking place in the world under the current information revolution.
Dr. Khreisat stressed the importance of benefiting from the experiences of American universities, noting that more than half of the faculty members at JUST are graduates from highly reputable American universities, in addition to the strong historical relationship between the university and American universities since its establishment in 1986.
The first assistant to the cultural attaché at the embassy, John Heshmah, explained that the US Embassy in Jordan is committed to helping Jordanian universities build stronger relations with their American counterparts.
The delegation also visited the Princess Haya Biotechnology Center where they were received by the Director of the Center Dr. Said Jaradat, who in turn reviewed the Center's partnerships with American institutions, especially in the field of biosecurity.
The delegation also attended presentations by the Director of the Queen Rania Al Abdullah Center for Environmental Science and Technology, Prof. Jamal Abu Ashour on the University's projects in the fields of energy and water, as well as a lecture on the University's efforts to support innovation by the Director of the Center of Excellence for Creative Projects Dr. Fahad Awad.
Additionally, the delegation attended a presentation on the twinning project between the Faculty of Vet Medicine and RVC by Prof. Ehab Abu Basha.
