The College of Engineering at the Jordan University of Science and Technology organized its Advisory Day with broad participation from members of the advisory boards of the various departments. This event comes as part of the college’s ongoing efforts to develop the educational process and enhance its alignment with labor market needs.
The meeting aimed to discuss the future of engineering education at the college and to review the key challenges and opportunities facing academic programs. It provided a platform for exchanging views and expertise among faculty members, representatives of industrial sectors, employers, and other stakeholders. During the advisory sessions, participants addressed several important themes, most notably updating curricula, improving learning outcomes, and strengthening students’ practical and technical skills in line with rapid advancements across engineering fields.
Participants also emphasized the importance of effective partnerships between the college and both public and private sectors, and the need to leverage the expertise of advisory boards in shaping the objectives of engineering programs. This would ensure the graduation of qualified professionals capable of competing in local and regional labor markets.
At the conclusion of the event, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Doraid Dalalah, reaffirmed the college’s commitment to holding such consultative meetings regularly, given their pivotal role in enhancing the quality of engineering education and strengthening its alignment with labor market needs at the local, regional, and international levels.
