Jordan University of Science and Technology Showcases Its Experience in Innovation and Digital Transformation at the World Government Summit

Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) took part in the World Government Summit 2026, held in Dubai under the theme “Shaping the Governments of the Future." The participation came in response to an official invitation from the Government of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates University, with wide international attendance that included heads of state and government, senior decision-makers, and experts from across the globe.

The university was represented at the summit by its President, Professor Khalid El-Salem. The participation highlighted JUST's leading experience in promoting entrepreneurship and innovation, strengthening creativity ecosystems, advancing digital transformation, and reinforcing its role in community service and sustainable development. The university also showcased its key initiatives and programs in digital transformation, support for entrepreneurial projects, and aligning scientific research with societal needs and labor market demands, in line with global trends in institutional development and governance.

Professor El-Salem emphasized that the university's strategy is aligned with the national modernization paths pursued by the government under the vision and guidance of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, may God protect him—particularly the Economic Modernization Vision. He noted that the university is committed to translating these national priorities into practical programs and initiatives that foster innovation, support the knowledge economy, and prepare highly qualified graduates capable of meeting future challenges.

Prof. El-Salem added that JUST's participation in the World Government Summit reflects its firm belief in the importance of engaging with global platforms dedicated to shaping the future and exchanging expertise in good governance, innovation, and digital transformation. He explained that the university follows a strategic vision focused on building students' capacities, empowering academic staff, and strengthening partnerships with local and international institutions in support of sustainable development and community service.

He further noted that the university continues to advance its academic and research systems and align its programs with rapid global developments, reinforcing its position as a leading educational and research institution. These efforts contribute to preparing a generation capable of creativity and competitiveness in the knowledge economy and of actively contributing to building more resilient and future-ready societies.

The participation underscores the advanced academic standing of Jordan University of Science and Technology and its active role in representing Jordan's higher education sector at international forums, while strengthening its presence in global initiatives related to governance and innovation.

The 2026 edition of the World Government Summit is witnessing the largest leadership participation since its inception, hosting more than 60 heads of state and government and their deputies, over 500 ministers, and representatives from more than 150 countries.
