JUST Participates in COSIMENA DAAD 2025 International Winter School on Digital Documentation of Industrial Heritage
The Faculty of Architecture and Design at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) participated in the COSIMENA DAAD 2025 International Winter School, held in Alexandria under the title “(Re)cognizing Heritage: Digital Documentation of Industrial Heritage.” Academic experts and students from international universities in Egypt, Germany, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates participated in the Winter School.
JUST was represented by five students from the Departments of Architecture and Urban Planning and city Design, along with the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Ahmed Freewan, who delivered a scientific lecture on advanced experimental applications in digital heritage preservation.
The program focused on hands-on training in digital documentation techniques for industrial heritage, including digital surveying, 3D modeling, and photogrammetry. The Winter School was organized as part of the COSIMENA project, funded by the DAAD and supervised by Alexandria University.
This participation reflects Jordan University of Science and Technology’s commitment to strengthening its international academic presence and expanding opportunities for students and faculty to engage in specialized global academic programs. In addition, discussions were held regarding hosting the next Winter School in Jordan or the UAE, as well as broadening the scope of participants and future research collaboration.
