JUST Launches “JUST Quit" Initiative to Promote Healthy Lifestyles
Jordan University of Science and Technology has launched the “JUST Quit" initiative, organized by the Faculty of Nursing in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs, as part of the university's Smoking Cessation Clinic program.
The initiative aims to enhance health awareness on campus and encourage students to quit smoking through services and consultations offered by the cessation clinic, in addition to a variety of educational programs.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Majed Masa'deh; the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Professor Nihaya Al-Shiyab; Dr. Rasha Manasrah from the World Health Organization; and nutrition specialist and influencer Bushra Al-Bitar, along with several academic and administrative staff members and students.
The launch event featured introductory presentations outlining the initiative's plans and activities, as well as explanations of the services offered to students seeking to quit smoking. The event reflected the university's commitment to supporting public health and fostering a safe, smoke-free learning environment, and included competitions and interactive activities.
The event also included dialogue sessions and debates addressing the challenges of smoking cessation and the available support mechanisms. Experts provided direct answers to students' questions, contributing to increased awareness and encouraging the adoption of healthy behaviors.
Participating parties emphasized that the initiative aligns with the university's efforts to promote sustainable healthy practices and expand awareness programs targeting both students and the broader university community.
