The Faculty of Architecture and Design at Jordan University of Science and Technology explores avenues of cooperation with the Royal Automobile Club to promote road safety

Inspired by the vision of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince—may God protect him—to promote awareness of traffic safety and protect lives, and in line with the College of Architecture and Design's commitment to strengthening collaboration with local community institutions and leading national entities,

the College held a productive meeting with the Royal Automobile Club of Jordan (RACJ), represented by Mrs. Reem Al-Nashashibi, Director of Road Safety and Sustainable Transport, and Eng. Sanaa Khassawneh, Road Safety and Sustainable Transport Consultant.

The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Fariwan, and attended by the college team: Dr. Nermeen Al-Dalgamoni, Dr. Yasmein Okour, Dr. Sana'a Ruqaibat, and Eng. Rania Al-Rawwash.

During the meeting, the parties discussed potential collaboration in areas such as road safety, walkable city design, and implementing awareness programs for school students—topics that lie at the core of the Department of Urban Planning and Design's specialization. These efforts aim to serve the local community and enhance public awareness of safe and sustainable urban planning.

This collaboration aligns with the College's vision for sustainable planning, highlighting the human dimension in Jordanian cities and addressing environmental challenges through the establishment of the Environmental and Urban Engineering Program.

The partnership also aims to bridge academic knowledge with practical application, as the two parties agreed to introduce a specialized training program from the Star Rating for Schools (SR4S) initiative as a part of (iRAP) international road assessment program for students of the Department of Urban Planning and Design, which will grant them an internationally accredited certificate.

The College appreciates the efforts of the Royal Automobile Club of Jordan in supporting youth and community initiatives and looks forward to building an active partnership that creates tangible impact within society.
