JUST Signs a cooperation MoU with the Jordanian Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company (JPM)
Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) signed an academic and training cooperation MoU with the Jordanian Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company (JPM), with the aim of strengthening collaboration in training, professional development, and scientific research, as well as developing specialized academic programs that support the pharmaceutical industry in Jordan and the region.
The MoU was signed on behalf of the University by Prof. Basheer Khasawneh, Vice President of JUST, and on behalf of JPM by Mr. Taha Al-Kubaisi, representing the company's General Manager and also serving as the General Manager of Delass Company for Natural Products. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Mohammad Al-Kooz, Executive Director of Human Resources at JPM; Prof. Qosay Al-Balas, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Dr. Sufian Maqdadi, member of the Faculty Council; and Dr. Osama Alshogran, Vice Dean of Pharmacy.
Under the MoU, JPM will provide training opportunities for students of the Faculty of Pharmacy through the Dual Studies and Internship programs, enabling students to develop their skills and prepare for the labor market by integrating academic learning with practical, hands-on training.
The MoU also includes organizing joint training courses, workshops, and scientific conferences, as well as facilitating orientation visits to the company's manufacturing facilities. Additionally, the two parties will exchange expertise in research and technical fields related to pharmacy and pharmaceutical and biological manufacturing, thereby enhancing the quality of higher education and strengthening the capabilities of national talent.
Prof. Al-Khasawneh emphasized that this agreement reflects the University's commitment to building strategic partnerships with the pharmaceutical industry, ensuring alignment between educational outcomes and labor market needs, while reinforcing Jordan's position in the pharmaceutical sector as a vital industry and a key driver of value-added development.
In turn, Mr. Al-Kubaisi expressed his pride in partnering with JUST, praising its pioneering role as a distinguished academic and research institution at both the local and regional levels. He confirmed that JPM will dedicate its expertise and manufacturing and research capacities to supporting the University's students and researchers, thereby enhancing JUST's role as a hub for innovation and contributing to the graduation of a generation of qualified professionals capable of excelling and competing locally and internationally.
This MoU comes within the framework of both parties' strategies to strengthen cooperation between academic and industrial institutions in Jordan, contributing to the advancement of scientific research and sustainable development in the pharmaceutical sector.
