Certified as an “International CPR Training Center" by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Jordan University of Science and Technology received accreditation as an “International Center for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training" from the American Heart Association (AHA), during the Arab Health exhibition held recently in Dubai.
This accreditation came as a culmination of the university's efforts to develop its medical training programs, as it became the first accredited center of its kind in a government university, and it is equipped with the latest technologies and specialized personnel from Paramedics program in the Department of Allied Medical Sciences at the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences.
During the visit of a delegation from Jordan University of Science and Technology, headed by Professor Khaled Al-Salem, accompanied by the Vice President for Medical Faculties and the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, to the American Heart Association (AHA), the University President received the accreditation certificate, He expressed his pride in this achievement, which reflects the university's keenness to advance medical education and enhance emergency response skills, stressing that this new center will contribute to training health and non-health personnel, which enhances health awareness and improves life-saving opportunities in emergency situations.
For their part, representatives of the American Heart Association in the Middle East, Director General of the Association's office, Professor Rami Khattar, and Senior International Program Director, Professor Muhammad Al-Muzain, praised the university's efforts in developing cardiac and emergency care, considering that this center represents an important step in improving the quality of health care and saving lives from through advanced training programs, they appreciated the university's continuous endeavor to enhance training programs for health personnel.
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed future cooperation opportunities, most notably working on accrediting the Stroke Center and the Chest Pain Center, in partnership with King Abdullah University Hospital, with the aim of strengthening emergency health care systems and improving patient outcomes.
