Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Al-Khasawneh inaugurated the Veterinary Teaching Hospital

Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Al-Khasawneh inaugurated today, Tuesday, the Veterinary Teaching Hospital affiliated with the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Science and Technology, the first of its kind in Jordan and the largest in the region.

The Prime Minister praised the efforts made to establish this unique hospital, which contributes to veterinary education and supports the food security system by preserving animal wealth.

University President Prof. Khalid El-Salem and Hospital Director Dr. Myassar Alekish briefed on the hospital, its facilities, and departments. It was established with a grant from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development in the United Arab Emirates, worth $7 million, with a total area of approximately seven thousand square meters. This aims to keep pace with global developments in veterinary medicine, enhance education in this field, increase community awareness of veterinary medicine, and care for animals while protecting society from common diseases.

During the hospital's opening, the Prime Minister was accompanied by Minister of Agriculture Engineer Khaled Huneifat, Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Azmi Mahafzah, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Touqan, deputies, dignitaries of Irbid Governorate, and Governor of Irbid Radwan Al-Atoum, and Acting UAE Charge d'Affaires Faisal Al-Zyoudi.
