Jordan University of Science and Technology Hosts the “NASA Space Apps” Competition
Today, Saturday, October 5, 2024, the activities of the NASA Space Apps competition kicked off, organized by the Center of Excellence for Creative Projects at Jordan University of Science and Technology. The event will span three days, with the participation of 120 students representing 15 teams from various academic disciplines.
The competition, inaugurated by Professor Muhannad Qweider, Director of the Center of Excellence for Creative Projects, and attended by Mr. Wael Tleilan, Director of Administrative Services, aims to encourage students to innovate and think scientifically by offering innovative solutions to the challenges posed by NASA.
Professor Qweider stated that the university’s Center of Excellence, under the guidance of the university president, Professor Khaled Al-Salem, supports such competitions that foster innovation and open new horizons for students. He emphasized that these initiatives allow students to test their ideas and apply their knowledge in a competitive environment, contributing to the development of their practical skills. “We believe that such events contribute to preparing a generation of leaders and innovators capable of shaping the future of science and technology.”
The competition saw broad participation from students, where teams were formed to develop projects addressing various issues, such as environmental sustainability and space exploration. Workshops and training sessions were also provided, giving competitors the opportunity to enhance their skills and exchange ideas.
