Awareness lecture on cybersecurity for students and teachers at Deir Youssef Secondary School for Girls

In line with its community mission of promoting digital security awareness, the Cybersecurity Department at Jordan University of Science and Technology's Faculty of Computer and Information Technology organized an awareness lecture for students and teachers at Deir Youssef Secondary School for Girls on Monday, November 17, 2025.

Under the supervision of Dr. Hala Hamada, a team of students from the department gave the lecture, covering a number of key cybersecurity topics, most notably:

- Personal digital protection methods

The dangers of social engineering and how to avoid them.

Password security and safe practices

- Conscious use of social media platforms

- Appropriate digital security measures for the school environment

The event featured significant interaction between students and teachers, including discussions and questions about the most effective ways to safely use technology inside and outside of school.

The Dean of the College of Computer and Information Technology praised the initiative, emphasizing its importance in strengthening the university's role in serving the community and spreading security culture. He thanked the department and the organizers for their efforts in supporting educational institutions and enabling students and teachers to acquire digital protection skills. The dean affirmed the college's commitment to continuing to implement quality programs that contribute to building strong cyber awareness among various segments of society.

This lecture is part of a series of awareness-raising events organized by the department to support local communities and empower the new generation to use technology safely and responsibly.
