A team of students from the Cybersecurity Department qualified for the BlackHat MEA CTF Finals.
Praise God! A team of students from the Cybersecurity Department at Jordan University of Science and Technology's Faculty of Computer and Information Technology has qualified for the BlackHat MEA CTF Finals. The competition will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from December 2-4, 2025. More than 1,200 teams from across the region participated in the qualifying stage.
Three students from the university achieved this success:
Ahmed Juma, Hazem Qatousa, and Mohammed Al-Fandi. They are the only student team from the university to reach this advanced stage. They achieved 68th place in the qualifying rounds, reflecting their high level of readiness and skill.
Their supervisor, Dr. Qasim Abu Al-Hija, emphasized that their arrival at the finals reflects their excellence in theoretical and practical aspects, as well as their ability to compete in one of the most important global cybersecurity competitions.
In light of this achievement, the dean of the College of Computer and Information Technology offered his sincere congratulations to the team. He praised their outstanding performance, which reflects the quality of the college's programs and its active role in nurturing student talent and enabling them to participate in regional and international forums. He also affirmed his continued support for such initiatives, which raise the university's profile and highlight its capabilities in advanced technical fields.
This achievement is an important step for the college in strengthening its presence in cybersecurity and consolidating the university's position as an incubator for excellence and innovation.
