Jordan University of Science and Technology participates in national dialogue on protecting human rights in the context of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence.

Represented by the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology, the Jordan University of Science and Technology participated in the national dialogue organized by the National Center for Human Rights on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 18-19, 2025. The dialogue was dedicated to discussing two main topics: emerging technology and artificial intelligence, as well as digital violence and its impact on vulnerable groups.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Rifai and Dr. Suleiman Bani Ahmed, candidates from the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology, represented the university in this dialogue. They participated in discussion sessions and exchanged experiences on technical challenges in digital security, artificial intelligence ethics, and user protection in the digital environment.

The sessions covered a variety of topics, including:

  • National and international policies related to emerging technologies and artificial intelligence;
  • The legislative framework governing modern technology in Jordan.
  • National policies supporting artificial intelligence, the digital economy, and entrepreneurship.
  • Human rights in the business sector in the context of advanced technology;
  • Digital violence against women, girls, and vulnerable groups.
  • Digital violence against children, the elderly, and people with disabilities.
  • The role of the judiciary, public security, and the National Center for Cybersecurity and Information in addressing digital challenges.
  • ​​The responsibility of civil society organizations in reducing digital violence and raising awareness of it.

The College of Computer Technology emphasized that this participation aligns with the university's vision to strengthen its presence in national dialogues, align its specializations with digital transformations, and provide students with knowledge related to cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and technology ethics. This contributes to the protection of human rights in the digital space.

The events concluded with the issuance of a set of recommendations focused on developing artificial intelligence legislation, enhancing privacy protection, reducing digital violence, and expanding cooperation between universities and national entities in technical and legal fields.
