Awareness seminar on the normative principles of cybersecurity design engineering
On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, the Department of Cybersecurity at the Jordan University of Science and Technology held a distinguished awareness seminar entitled “Normative Principles of Cybersecurity Design Engineering” presented by Dr. Qasim Abu Al-Haija, Head of the Department of Cybersecurity. The seminar was well attended by students, especially graduation project students, who were keen to benefit from the valuable information covered.
The seminar covered a range of important topics in the field of cybersecurity, including:
- Cybersecurity concepts, basic components, and standards.
- Objectives and principles of cybersecurity design.
- Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Challenges in designing cybersecurity systems.
- Cybersecurity architecture and other topics.
During the seminar, Dr. Abulhaija gave a detailed explanation on how to apply standard principles in designing cybersecurity systems and the importance of following the SDLC. The event also witnessed interactive discussions with the students, who showed great interest and asked important questions that enriched the discussion. At the end of the seminar, Dr. Qassim Abu Al-Haija expressed his thanks and appreciation to all attendees for their active participation, and stressed the importance of such seminars in enhancing students' cyber awareness and equipping them to face future challenges in this field.
