Participation of students from the College of Computer and Information Technology in the volunteer team to organize the e-sports competition
Students from the College of Computer and Information Technology participated in the volunteer team to organize the e-sports competition, which was held under the patronage of the President of the Jordanian E-Sports Federation, His Highness Prince Omar bin Faisal. The Kingdom's Electronic Sports Championship finals were held from May 17 to 18 at the federation's headquarters in the Hussein Business Park in the capital, Amman.
The students demonstrated their organizational and administrative skills in coordinating events and facilitating procedures, which contributed to the tournament's success bringing together elite e-sports professionals in 11 different games of different ages. The tournament witnessed strong and exciting competitions, in which the champions and winning teams were crowned in the top three places in all games. The value of the prizes offered reached more than 17,000 Jordanian dinars, in an event aimed at selecting members of the Jordanian national e-sports team and promoting the e-sports culture in the Kingdom, in addition to encouraging local talent.
The Dean of the College of Computer and Information Technology, Professor Mounir Bani Yassin, expressed his pride in the college students who actively participated in the volunteer team to organize this important event, stressing their great role in achieving the resounding success of the tournament. Dr. Mounir seeks to motivate students to hold events and encourages them to take an active role in society, enhance their self-confidence, and organize community events and initiatives.
This achievement highlights the position of the Jordan University of Science and Technology as a leading educational institution that contributes to the development of e-sports and enhances the Kingdom’s position as a center for e-sports in the region.
