The JCPC is considered one of the most prestigious competitive programming contests in Jordan. Its Jordanian edition was launched in 2011 and forms part of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) system, which dates back to 1970 and is regarded as one of the oldest and most prominent university programming competitions worldwide.
The competition tests participating teams' ability to solve a set of programming and algorithmic problems within a specified time limit. This requires advanced skills in logical thinking, algorithm design, teamwork and time management.
The Jordanian competition is a stepping stone in a competitive pathway that enables exceptional teams to qualify for the African and Arab Countries Programming Contest (ACPC), where the region's top university teams compete. From there, teams compete for the chance to advance to the ICPC World Finals.
On this occasion, the Dean of the College, Prof. Moad Mowafi, congratulated the winning students, participants and supervisors on their achievement, praising the high level of performance demonstrated by the University’s students in the competition. He emphasised the university’s commitment to providing a supportive academic and training environment that enables students to develop their skills, unleash their creative and innovative potential, and compete effectively in local, regional and global competitions.
