August 22 /// The Line Tracing Robotics Competition TCRT 2024 was launched at the Jordan University of Science and Technology, organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs and the Computer and Information Club (CTC) in cooperation with the College of Computer and Information Technology, with the participation of more than 35 teams from different colleges.
The competition, which was sponsored by a representative of the University President, Vice President Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Ajlouni, aims to motivate students to carry out pioneering and creative projects and ideas, develop their leadership skills, and instill in them the spirit of teamwork and puts participants in multi-dimensional challenges that blend general culture with information technologies in a rich competitive atmosphere. With excitement and suspense, designing and programming robots capable of carrying out specific tasks independently.
The competition provided participants with an opportunity to learn and innovate in the spirit of technical competition, apply their academic knowledge on the ground, and enhance their skills in problem-solving and teamwork, as the robots will be evaluated based on their speed and accuracy in following the drawn path, and highlighted the role of students in organizing and participating in various events and activities at the university. The Computer and Information Club (CTC) is important in providing students with the opportunity to prove their ability and excellence and stimulate the spirit of cooperation, participation, and competition.
The great red dragon team won first place in the competition, which included students: Jawad Sakher, Yazan Nayfa, and Majd Malkawi. The Robot Slayer team won second place, including students Muhammad Abu Issa, Abdul Hadi Ahmed, and Abdul Karim Al-Shaboul. Third place was won by the Batbot team, which included students: Hamza Abu Saa and Hossam Al-Khatib, and the Boomers team won the Rising Star Award, which included students Abdul Rahim Al-Natour, Hashem Al-Shawish, and Assem Hatamla, and the Ai Avengers team won the Best Team Award and included students: Omar Abu Al-Rub, Ammar Al-Rousan, and Ayman Ubaidullah.
The competition was attended by the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Majid Masaada, the Dean of the College of Computer and Information Technology, Professor Dr. Munir Bani Yassin, and several members of the teaching and administrative staff and students.
