The Acting President of Jordan University of Science and Technology, Dr. Khalid Al-Salem, inaugurate the scientific day of the Department of Mechanical Engineering organized by the department in the university, in the presence of the President of the Irbid Chamber of Industry Mr. Hani Abu Hassan.

Dr. Al-Salem said during the opening ceremony that the university has born  the responsibility of graduating the competencies required by the labor market, which provides the productive and industrial sectors with  knowledgeable and creative competencies based on His Majesty King Abdullah II's vision of giving special care to youth and promoting the development of the economy.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Dr. Samir Al-Aisha said that the aim of this day is to strengthen ties of cooperation with various community institutions and with the industrial sector , which reflects the role of the university in linking university education to comprehensive and sustainable national development and matching the requirements of the labor market and student achievement.

The coordinator of the scientific day, Dr. Ahmed Batayneh, said that the aim of this scientific day is to fortify the cooperation between the university and the labor market, raise the level of education and scientific research, in addition to inform the companies in the labor market of the results of the department's outputs and engaging the industrial sector as a strategic partner in determining the outcomes of education and finding a kind of interaction between  companies and institutions working in the field of mechanics to prepare students to engage in the labor market locally, regionally and internationally.

The representative of the Department of Mechanical Engineering student Jalal Abu Hassan emphasized the important and distinguished role of the Department and their constant efforts in order to inform students of the opportunities related to the scientific developments in their field of work.

The activities of the scientific day included a series of lectures aimed at educating mechanical engineering students regarding the requirements labor market after graduation, presenting the most advanced technology in the field of mechanical engineering, and honoring the graduate students and participants in the exhibition.

Dr. Al Salem opened the graduation projects exhibition for mechanical engineering students, which included a special section for industrial products of some companies participating in the scientific day.​

The opening was attended by a number of deans of the faculties at the university, a number of faculty members, researchers in the field of mechanical engineering, students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and parents of students.
