The Faculty of Engineering at Jordan University of Science and Technology organized the Engineering Innovation Competition for High School Students under the patronage of Professor Doraid Dalalah, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, with the participation of students from various governorates across the Kingdom. The competition aimed to promote a culture of creativity and innovation among school students, develop their engineering thinking and problem-solving skills, and encourage them to apply scientific knowledge in developing innovative solutions to real-world challenges.
The event opened with a welcoming speech delivered by Dr. Esraa Mustafa Al-Sharoa, Chair of the Organizing Committee, in which she emphasized the importance of the competition in discovering young talents, refining their skills, and introducing them to different engineering disciplines. The program also included an introductory presentation about the Faculty of Engineering delivered by Professor Doraid Dalalah, who highlighted the academic programs, educational and research opportunities offered by the faculty, as well as its supportive environment for creativity and excellence. In addition, the event featured project presentation sessions before the judging committee and audience, along with a Kahoot activity organized by engineering students from the organizing committee, which added an atmosphere of excitement and engagement among the participants.
The competition witnessed the participation of eleven schools from different regions of the Kingdom: Ikrimah Secondary School for Boys, Noor Al-Hussein Comprehensive Secondary School for Girls, Summit International Academy, Hareema Comprehensive Secondary School for Girls, Al-Madina Al-Wardiyya Mixed Basic School, Kufrsoum Comprehensive Secondary School for Girls, Asma Bint Abi Bakr Mixed Secondary School, Jubilee School, Al-Bishir Model School, Abu Al-Louqus Secondary School for Boys and King's Academy.
At the conclusion of the event, the competition results were announced. Six teams shared the top three places, in addition to a special award for fourth place. The results were as follows:
