"Women in Engineering (WIE) in Wonderland" Iftar for Orphaned Girls
The students of the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) JUST branch, in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), organized an Iftar event for orphaned girls under the theme "WIE in Wonderland" in a heartwarming and affectionate atmosphere.
The event began with a warm welcome for the orphans, as the students ensured that the girls felt appreciated and cared for from the moment they arrived. A joyful ambiance was set up, with volunteers divided into groups. Each orphaned girl had the freedom to choose a volunteer as her companion throughout the event, providing support and company during this special experience.
After forming teams, the event kicked off with exciting group competitions featuring energetic sports games such as tug-of-war, ball races, and running contests, adding a lively and interactive spirit. This was followed by a face painting activity, where each girl selected her favorite design, filling the space with laughter and joy.
As Iftar time arrived, everyone gathered around the table to enjoy a warm Ramadan meal, fostering a sense of connection and affection. After the meal, the girls participated in a wood painting session, where each expressed her creativity in her unique way. Meanwhile, the WIE students engaged the orphans in friendly conversations, asking lighthearted questions to get to know them better and strengthen their bond. This was accompanied by gift distributions, bringing smiles to their faces.
At the end of the day, the students bid farewell to the girls with heartfelt smiles and warm laughter, leaving behind beautiful memories and a lasting positive impact on everyone involved.
Such initiatives aim to enhance the students' engagement with the local community, encouraging them to participate in voluntary and charitable activities as the university and the Faculty of Engineering strive to support students in fostering a spirit of generosity and goodwill.
