The Faculty of Engineering at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), under the patronage of the Dean, Professor Dorid Dalalah, organized an engineering project competition for school students. The event hosted the Summit International Academy with its two branches, BTEC and International. The activity featured a variety of engaging and educational segments.
Dr. Esraa Al-Sharoa, Assistant Dean, opened the event by welcoming the guests from the Summit International Academy and university attendees. This was followed by an introductory lecture delivered by the Dean, Professor Dorid Dalalah, in which he presented the departments and academic programs of the Faculty of Engineering. After the lecture, the exhibition of engineering projects by participating students was inaugurated.
A total of 10 teams competed fiercely in the competition, with winners selected for the top positions. The Smart City project won first place, followed by Smart Fire Fighter in second place, and Robotic Arm Service Provider in third place.
The competition aimed to strengthen the connection between high school students in their final years and the university environment, as well as to foster creativity and a spirit of challenge among them. This initiative helps develop their practical skills in engineering fields. Professor Duraid Dalal'ah emphasized that this event is part of the faculty's efforts to enhance its engagement with the local community, particularly school students, highlighting the role of such competitions in discovering outstanding talents and encouraging students to innovate and excel.
Additionally, female members of the IEEE Women in Engineering JUST branch at the Faculty of Engineering, organized an interactive Kahoot! competition. The quiz included useful and entertaining questions, increasing student engagement and adding an atmosphere of excitement and fun to the event.
At the conclusion of the event, the winners of the engineering competition and the Kahoot! contest were honored.
