20 Nov 2017

In its celebration of ‘The International Week for Entrepreneurship’, the Department of Humanities in the Faculty of Science and Arts organized a lecture on Sunday 19th of November titled “Inspiration in Entrepreneurship” delivered by Abdulrahman Alrifai, marketing executive of Tamatem.co.
Tamatem.co is a leading mobile games publisher in the MENA market. It recruits more than 25 employees in three continents. It partners with international studios and developers to localize their games for users in the Arab World. It is based in King Hussein Complex in Amman and has offices in Mountain View in California and in Cairo, Egypt. It has reached a hit number of more than 45 million downloads of more than 40 games which were released from its application on Apple App store and Android play store.
Alrifai gave valuable tips from his own experience, highlighting the importance of thinking outside the box, being creative and seeking knowledge. He called for sharing thoughts and reaching for others to realize one’s prospects. He also stressed the significance of putting one’s theoretical knowledge into application.
Alrifai gave an account of his success story at tamatem.co, reviewing his journey from the birth of the idea of launching the application, to its actual establishment up to its success in reaching the games market. He added that the application has enriched the share of games on smart phones in Arabic, which covers only %1 of the games market in the world despite the fact that Arabic language occupies the fourth position in the world in terms of the numbers of users and speakers of the language.
The lecture was attended by the dean of the Faculty of Science and Arts Professor Qutaiba Khatatbeh, Head of the Department of Humanities Dr. Adnan Obaidat and a large number of instructors and students who displayed enthusiasm about the various technical and practical aspects of the lecture.
