We would like to mention that if you miss the official exam for any subject in the College of Science and Arts, you must log in to Student Services, and fill out an application to take the supplementary exam within a maximum period of one week from the exam date. To be clear, there are two excuses:
1.Emergency Excuse or Technical Malfunction: Emergency excuses are given once per semester, and department heads accept emergency excuses.
2. Medical excuses: As for medical excuses, they are in accordance with the instructions for issuing and approving medical excuses for students of the Jordan University of Science and Technology as follows:
1. These instructions are called (Instructions for Issuing and Approving Medical Excuses for Students of the Jordan University of Science and Technology).
The Jordan University of Science and Technology Health Center, the founding King Abdullah University Hospital, and the educational dental clinics are the entities authorized to grant medical excuses to JUST students.
3. For students residing outside the city of Irbid, the Student Medical Committee receives medical excuses issued by hospitals or health centers affiliated with the Ministry of Health or Jordan University Hospital only. Provided that it is duly certified and attached to a financial receipt instead of a medical report and another receipt for scouts or treatment.
4. The medical excuse must be delivered to the health center within a maximum period of two working days after the end of the sick leave.
Medical excuses issued by the private sector are not accepted, with the exception of accidents and surgeries, provided that they are duly certified and attached to the treatment invoice.
6. The Student Medical Committee at the health center has the right to contact the party that gave the medical excuse and inquire about the disease state.
7. The medical examination data and the procedures taken shall be recorded on the medical excuse form, otherwise the committee has the right not to approve the medical excuse.
8. All medical excuses need final approval from the medical committee at the health center.
