A Lecture about the Role of Public Security in Achieving Community Peace

At Jordan University of Science and Technology/JUST

A lecture entitled "The Role of Public Security in Achieving Community Peace and the Impact of Electronic Crimes on the Community" was organized by the Faculty of Science and Arts in cooperation with the Department of Community Service and Development at the University. The lecture was attended by the university president, Prof. Omar Al-Jarrah.

The North Region Security Commander  and Head of the Electronic Crimes Division Brigadier Obeidallah Al-Maaitah talked about the importance of security and social peace in our community  under the rule of law, security, safety, justice, values, equality and respect for the humanity and dignity of the citizens.

Al-Maaytah emphasized  the importance of the role of the public security apparatus in achieving community peace and providing the necessary basis for building security through the application of law and order, protecting citizens and preserving property. He pointed out that the Public Security Directorate has worked to develop a special section to monitor electronic crimes to preserve the public rights of citizens, and official and civil institutions and to punish anyone who intends to violate the rights of others.

The Dean of the Faculty of Science and Arts, Dr. Qutaiba Khatatba said that the Faculty of Science and Arts works within the university  strategy in developing the higher education sector in Jordan, and carries out its social responsibility through the establishment of many activities and events for university students, adding that  this lecture is one  of the faculty activities  that is inspired by  The 7th Discussion Paper by His Majesty King Abdullah II  which focuses on the importance to keep up with the rapid developments of this era and address the urgent challenges facing our education sector to overcome them effectively and arrive at a modern education system—pivotal to building the future we seek. ​
