Information Session about the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN)
The International Relations Office at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) hosted an information session about the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), given by Mr. Martin Gastal, Experimental Area Manager at CERN. Interested Faculty and students were briefed about the extensive research and training activities of CERN, in the fields of Engineering, Applied Physics, and Information Technology. Mr. Gastal answered questions about ongoing efforts for collaboration with JUST.
The session was followed by a meeting with Vice President, Prof. Mohammad Ibbini, in addition to Deans and staff members from the Faculties of Engineering, Science and Arts, Computer Science and Information Technology, and Graduate Studies. The meeting explored potential options for a membership of CERN, and projected a prospective action plan for collaboration between the two institutions.
Mr. Gastal then toured JUST facilities, including the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects and the Engineering Workshops, and was briefed about the training and research activities of these facilities.
