HRH Prince Hamzah on Tuesday inaugurated the first international conference on modern nanotechnology and its applications at the Jordan University for Science and Technology (JUST).

University President  Prof. Saeb Khreisat said that establishing the Nanotechnology Institute aims at encouraging scientific and cognitive investment in advanced entrepreneur fields through  sending distinguished students to international prominent universities ,establishing cooperative relationships  and agreements  with the best international  scientific research centers as part of the university continuous efforts towards achieving more success and advanced positions among internationally ranked universities.

The Dean of the Nanotechnology Institute Mohammed Alfandi said that JUST has achieved advanced positions and excellence  among  the local and regional scientific centers in various international rankings  and  is continuously organizes  scientific conferences distinguished in vital areas that contribute to the advancement of local and international development.

Head of the three-day conference Mohammad Omari said that the event will address several applications of nanotechnology, including sciences of energy effective material, environment and sustainable development, and magnetic materials, among others.

Prince Hamzah and Khreisat toured the institute which was established in 2010 under a Royal initiative as the first facility to provide a proper environment for nanotechnology research. ​
