The advisory committee for the Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering held its first meeting on JUST campus. The vice-president Prof. Serhan Haddad and the dean of college of Science and Arts Prof. Qutaibah Khatatbeh received and welcomed the committee. The committee discussed different ways by which Biotechnology graduates can find more employment opportunities such as making changes to the current curriculum, sending students for internships at international Institutions and making partnerships with regional employers.

The committee has the following members: Senator Pro. Rida Khawaldeh (University of Jordan), Prof. Abdualla Abbady (Former Chair of the Board of Trustees for JUST and Director and CEO of Cell Therapy Center- University of Jordan), Dr. Rami Khasawneh (Director of BSL3 Mobile Lab - Royal Medical Services) and Dr. Asyah Al-Owdan (Director of Laboratories Directorate - Ministry of Health).   

The meeting was attended by the Chair and faculty members of the Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering. 

It is worth mentioning that the advisory committees in the departments of the Faculty of Science and Arts were formed at the beginning of this year to assist the departments in the strategic planning and development to improve the level of teaching, training and scientific research.
