The Faculty of Pharmacy, represented by the "Doctor Of Pharmacy - towards an Optimal Pharmaceutical Care" campaign, in collaboration with doctors from the Ministry of Health/ Princess Basma Hospital and the Health Center of Jordan University of Science and Technology, organized a free medical day in the town of Al-Hashimiyeh in Ajloun, where the activity was held at Al-Hashimia High School for Girls.
The medical day activities included many explanatory booths focused on various diseases and health problems commonly encountered among members of the Jordanian society, through which the PharmD students provided awareness and health education about diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity and osteoporosis in addition to explaining about smoking and its harms as well as health problems influencing children and women, and treatment using herbs and alternative medicine.
Various free blood sugar tests and blood pressure measurements were performed. Patients were also offered to specialist doctors, and medicines were given free of charge in accordance with their medical condition.
