The Faculty of Nursing at Jordan University of Science and Technology, in cooperation with the Jordanian Nursing Council, is pleased to announce an educational lecture for first-semester graduating students on the role of the Jordanian Nursing Council and the process for passing the professional licensing exam. The lecture will be held on Tuesday, March 2nd, at 9:00 AM via Microsoft Teams. Presenter: Dr. Hanaa Abu Asneineh The lecture will cover the following topics: The Role of the Jordanian Nursing Council: Speakers will discuss the Council's vision, objectives, and responsibilities in promoting the nursing profession in Jordan. The Professional Licensing Exam Process: The steps and procedures of the nursing licensing exam will be explained, helping to ensure nurses are prepared to practice their profession professionally. We look forward to your attendance and participation in this event, which aims to enhance knowledge and professional development in the field of nursing.

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of clinical education, the Faculty of Nursing organized an orientation workshop on Wednesday, March 4, for clinical instructors responsible for supervising the clinical training of nursing students. The workshop aimed to strengthen the quality of clinical education and support the achievement of the program’s learning outcomes. The workshop was delivered by Dr. Heba Mohedat and Dr. Wala’a Almallah, who highlighted the critical role of clinical instructors in guiding and mentoring nursing students during their clinical placements. The session emphasized the importance of applying evidence-based teaching strategies to enhance students’ learning experiences, promote critical thinking, and improve clinical practice. The workshop also addressed the faculty’s approved clinical evaluation processes, including the use of standardized assessment forms and evaluation criteria, as well as effective approaches for providing constructive feedback to students in order to support their clinical competency development. In addition, the Faculty of Nursing Quality Committee presented the faculty’s quality assurance system. Dr. Kholoud Abu Obead and Ms. Amal Bsoul explained the mechanism for aligning the learning outcomes of clinical training courses with the program learning outcomes to ensure consistency and continuous quality improvement. This workshop is part of a series of upcoming training initiatives aimed at supporting the professional development of faculty members, clinical instructors, and students within the framework of the Micro-Credential Program.

In line with the strategic plan of Jordan University of Science and Technology and the executive plan of the Faculty of Nursing, and under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Nihaya Al-Shayyab, an awareness event entitled: “Understanding the Risks of Children’s Exposure to Smoking and Effective Prevention Initiatives” was launched. The event was prepared by Faculty of Nursing students as part of the Child Health Nursing course, under the supervision of Dr. Reem Ali. The event lasted for two days and was conducted in collaboration with the Smoking Cessation Clinic, reflecting the Faculty of Nursing’s educational and awareness mission and its leading role in promoting community health and spreading health awareness. The event aimed to highlight the risks of smoking through scientific and interactive activities focusing on passive smoking and its health, psychological, and behavioral effects on children. In addition, several activities were presented that addressed effective prevention strategies, enhanced knowledge about the dangers of smoking to children’s health, and emphasized the importance of prevention. The open day was attended by faculty members from the Faculty of Nursing, students from various university faculties, and university staff.
