This postgraduate program is part of the project “Supporting Higher Education for Syrian Refugees and Less-Fortunate Jordanian Youth” (EDU-SYRIA), which consists of several programs and is funded by the European Union. The program is implemented by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) as part of a consortium of several institutions led by the German Jordanian University (GJU).

The postgraduate program aims to select talented and disadvantaged Jordanian youth and further develop their potential by providing them with the opportunity to study and obtain a master’s degree. The program seeks to equip them with the skills needed to lead and advance their careers and improve their livelihoods.

The scholarship will be awarded based on a set of criteria, including financial status and academic achievement, such as the Bachelor’s degree GPA.

This scholarship provides 45 opportunities for Jordanians to pursue a master’s degree at the following universities and in specific fields of study, starting from the first semester of the academic year 2026/2027, under the comprehensive examination track only:

• Jordan University of Science and Technology
• Yarmouk University

1. Scholarship Support Provided

• The scholarship covers tuition fees and registration fees for a maximum of four semesters, in addition to the university admission fee, which is paid only once.
• A one-time allowance of 400 Euros per semester will be provided to cover essential expenses such as books (for a maximum of four semesters), provided that students successfully pass all courses.
• Scholarship recipients will receive maximum support and follow-up throughout their study period.

2. Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following conditions:

• The applicant must be a beneficiary of one of the following:
  • National Aid Fund
  • Tkiyet Um Ali
  • Aman Fund
  • Zakat Funds
  • The Poor Fund
• The applicant must not be older than 28 years at the start date of the master’s degree program.
• The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree GPA of at least “Very Good” or higher.
• The student must currently be enrolled in a study program (the student must have successfully completed at least 9 credit hours of the study plan).
• Priority will be given to applicants who attach a valid English language proficiency test result (valid for two years) with their application (IELTS or TOEFL only), according to the score required by each university for the offered program.
• Female applicants are encouraged to apply.

• Applicants with disabilities/special needs are encouraged to apply.

  (Blind students and students with severe hearing disabilities are exempt from the English language requirement unless they wish to study an English language-related program.)

• No work experience is required.
• Applicants must select a specialization that is suitable and related to their Bachelor’s degree field, as the scholarship will not cover any remedial/bridging courses before starting the master’s program.
• The applicant will be immediately excluded if they have another scholarship, or if they were previously accepted into an EDU-SYRIA Syrian/Jordanian postgraduate scholarship program and withdrew from it or were dismissed.
• Students who have successfully graduated from one of the EDU-SYRIA scholarship programs are allowed to apply.

3. Application and Required Documents

Applicants must prepare and submit the following documents:

• Copy of personal ID card.
• Copy of the applicant’s high school certificate (Tawjihi or equivalent).
• Copy of Bachelor’s degree certificate.
• Copy of Bachelor’s transcript including all semesters, courses, and grades.
• Copy of Master’s transcript (if applicable).
• Curriculum Vitae (CV) in English describing educational background and research experience, if available.
• Recent personal photo.
• Proof of receiving financial aid/support.
• Applicants with disabilities must attach a copy of the disability identification card issued by the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
• Copy of English proficiency test certificate (IELTS or TOEFL), if available, valid for no more than two years and according to the required score for the specialization and university. Priority will be given to applicants who submit a valid test result.

4. Approved Specializations and Universities

If you have already started applying for admission to a master’s program at one of the mentioned universities at your own expense, your application may be considered if it is among the specializations listed in the scholarship application form:

• Jordan University of Science and Technology
• Yarmouk University
