An awareness campaign to commemorate World CPR Day at the Jordan University of Science and Technology

The Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences begins a series of training workshops on cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid to increase community awareness in its various segments. The Dean of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, which was organized by the Ambulance and Emergency Department within the field training course, in the generous presence of Professor Dr. Majid, the Dean of Student Affairs, and a number of members of the administrative and teaching staff and students at the Jordan University of Science and Technology. This event is the beginning of many activities that will continue throughout the academic year, which aim to increase the awareness of the university and local community from various segments on how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and provide first aid when needed to the injured. This initiative comes as part of the global initiative to learn and teach cardiopulmonary resuscitation (restart a heart), which encourages everyone to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation when needed without the need to give artificial respiration, by pressing the injured person’s chest quickly and forcefully. The opening included speeches explaining the solidarity of the ambulance and emergency specialization and the college with their fellow paramedics in the Gaza Strip and appreciation for their efforts, as well as reciting Al-Fatiha for the souls of all the martyrs. After the opening, the ambulance and emergency students set up several stations in the Centenary Library Square, the medical and engineering buildings, and the classroom buildings, and they trained approximately 500 male and female students.
